Event Description: An experiential evening including Sufi meditation, dhikr, Dances of Universal Peace and other practice. This is a unique opportunity to experience one of the few female Sufi lineage holders who travel and teach internationally.
The Sufis have some unique perspectives on age-old questions: Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going? This evening will explore some of these perspectives through the eyes of the Sufi mystics. The home of the soul lies beyond the banks of the human condition in a land of splendours, a landscape of luminous formations and gardens laden with unearthly beauties that adorn the soul. Moulded of the heavenly attributes, the soul journeys forth and clothes itself with mantle upon mantle of impressions, so that it might endure the terrestrial environment within a bodily shell. The Sufi guide travels with the student, helping to restore the memory of the soul’s origin and purify the impressions of separation so it might experience its purpose on earth.
Murshida Tasnim Fernandez has travelled the Sufi path for 45 years and was the student of Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan. She has presented at conferences and workshops internationally, including in North Africa, South America, Canada, the USA and Europe. Born in Mexico City, Tasnim resides in the USA and is a senior teacher and guide in the Sufi Order International. In 1982, she co-founded the International Dances of Universal Peace and is one of the foremost teachers and mentors of the Dances. She is also a trained semazen—whirling dervish—in the Mevlevi Sufi tradition. She is active on Facebook and her website is: http://churchofall.wixsite.com/church-of-all
