Dates: Saturday 27 - Sunday 28 May 2017.
Time: Registration: 9.30am-10am. Retreat: 10am-5pm.
Event Description: Green spaces and the outdoors are increasingly viewed as valuable assets for the maintenance of good mental and spiritual health, and as an effective treatment for mental ill-health.
Learn how easy and enjoyable it is to take charge of your mental, emotional and physical well-being through spending time in nature. Discover how quickly and effectively therapeutic interventions can be made in the context of 'nature connection' and environmental conservation work. We can look after ourselves AND look after our planet!
This workshop is for anyone with a personal or professional interest in using ecotherapy for themselves and others in everyday life and in their work.
What previous participants have said:
“The days I have been here, it has brought out good things about myself and I have learned a lot about nature and the land. I loved everything about it and I thank Alasdair for everything I now know.”
“Thank you so much, I've had an amazing weekend. I feel a lot better about some big changes that are going to happen that have been causing a lot of stress. I feel much more comfortable now in myself and in my ability to deal with emotional difficulties through something that I've always loved – nature.”
“Nature has always made me feel calm and relaxed and safe, but I now think that the connection techniques you've taught me will allow that to continue and spread and expand into the times when I am not sat in a tree or on a moor.”
Most of our time over this weekend will, of course, be spent outside! Please bring suitable clothing for Scottish weather and a packed lunch each day.
Our primary eco-therapeutic tool will be the 9-step PRANA method (Positive Reflection and Association with Nature Awareness). For an outline, please see this link: http://www.earthforlife.org/about-us
