Event: Talk: Coming Together to Work for Peace in the Middle East.
Speaker: Dr Frank Romano.
Venue: The Studio, Augustine United Church, 41 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, EH1 1EL.
Date: Wednesday 11 May 2016.
Time: 7.30pm-9.30pm.
Event Description: Hosted by Dr Sara Trevelyan – Psychotherapist and Resource person for Findhorn Foundation.
Supported by the Edinburgh Interfaith Association, the Edinburgh International Centre for Spirituality and Peace, and the Edinburgh Peace and Justice Centre.
Dr Romano is a Professor of Law at the University of Paris Ouest. Since 2005 he has made several visits Israel and the Holy Land to participate in and organise interfaith activities, as described in his book “Love and Terror in the Middle East”. He has faced hostility, harassment and arrest while pursuing this work amongst Jews, Muslims, Christians and non-believers. His message is that as world politicians, notably in the US and the Middle East have failed to resolve the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, its up to you and me, on a grass roots level, to push the envelope towards peace.
The evening offers an opportunity to hear from a courageous man who has faced many challenges, in the course of his front line involvement working to create bridges of peace, friendship and understanding in this conflicted region.
Cost: Admission Free. Everyone Welcome.
