Event Description: In some very different ways, the author and campaigner Alastair McIntosh and his wife Vérène Nicolas live more from a sense of inner calling rather than a planned career path. In a conversation together they will explore their respective senses of vocation, reflecting on the spirituality of these times and their own struggles, including how the loss of their child through stillbirth has shaped their subsequent work and relationship. That, in ways that might speak to the life search of many.

Alastair McIntosh is an Honorary Fellow, School of Divinity (New College), University of Edinburgh; Honorary Senior Research Fellow, College of Social Sciences, University of Glasgow. Freelance as a campaigning academic, speaker, writer, poet and broadcaster and consultant.

Vérène Nicolas is an experienced trainer and facilitator. She works with teams and organisations, including faith groups, on the themes of leadership and collaboration and is particularly interested in helping create spaces that are hospitable to the soul.
